Electric Motorbike For Kids
Kids fourwheeler motorbike running sick?
Hi Guys
My kids 4 x wheeler motorbike 110cc has always run well. No problems starting with electric start and idles well. Recently it is become harder to start and idles poorly to the point of stalling and sounds terrible. Not quite backfiring but spluttering and coughing, very unusual. I have adjusted the screw on the carbie and does not achieve much. Changed out the spark plug which was a little dirty but still no joy. When you do take it out for a run and try to open it up through the gears it noticeably lacks power and is being held back. One curious point is it runs better with the choke on at the moment where as before the choke was sparingly used before on the odd start up then quickly turned off. I am comfortable mucking around with the carbie and fuel lines. Hopefully that’s only it and nothing more sinister. If it could be the carbie what should i be looking for. Any suggestions are more than welcome. Cheers folks.
You answered your own question with out knowing. You didn’t say the type of 4 Wheeler but it doesn’t matter. Every thing you posted points to a low/bead battery. Besides the poor performance you said it starts hard. (I’ll bet it’s a honda). Had a guy bring one to me complaining of the exact same symptoms. He had taken it to three diferent shops paid over $500 for carb cleaning, gas tank cleanings, tune ups, ect. When I tried to start it with the electric start, the battery was shot.”we always pull start it he said” The ignition system needs a good battery to run, go get a new battery.
I replaced it and she fired right up and ran great. He was pissed that he’d taken it to two different shops. Replace the battery. Follow the instructions and make sure it’s charged properly and the connections are clean and tight. I bet this will solve your problem.
