What should i look for when i buy a used dirt bike?
im going to look at a used KTM 125sx 04 and was wondering if there is anything i should really look out for. Any sugggestions or thoughts?
its a two stroke.. so you want to check if its clanky when you ride it.
dents in the pipe will affect the performance..
see if it has any after market parts on it..
if the bike looks like its been beaten up you shouldn’t get it.
ask the seller how often they change the oil (best is every 2-3 rides) and clean the air filter (best is after every ride)
and ask if its been ridden in the sand, the more time in the sand the more wear on the engine. If it has only been riden in the sand i wouldnt get it.
when you start it up slowly rev it higher, if it goes up at a constant rate its good. if it dosent thats not good..
check the suspension, ask if the fork seals have been replaced recently. cuz if those blow out it really sux, epically if ur out riding.
look at the sprockets see if there worn down, also look at the chain.
